JANUARY-FEBRUARY 2026: Do you have any books in good condition (not torn, stained, or mildewed) you will never read again? Please consider donating them to the Friends of Curry Public Library for our upcoming ANNUAL BOOK & BAKE SALE, February 13-16, 2026. Bring your book donations to the library on 3rd Street in Gold Beach through February 10, 2026. Purging your shelves and bed-side tables of books you have already read will make space for all the books you will want to purchase at the Book Sale!
FEBRUARY 2026: Do you love to bake? Do you make some holiday treat you would be willing to donate to the Friends’ ANNUAL BOOK & BAKE SALE February 13-16, 2026? Our bake sales are the best in town….strudels, biscotti, scones, tarts, Danish pastry, pies, cakes…even home-baked doggie treats! We do all the packaging and labeling…just let us know the name and ingredients of your delicious goodie.
AUGUST 2026: The Friends of Curry Public Library are collecting unique, useful or fun items for their fourteenth annual “MONTH-LONG SILENT AUCTION,” which will take place at the library September 5-October 2, 2026. The silent auction garners a great deal of interest and community participation, and is our most lucrative fundraiser of the year. Check your cupboards, drawers, and garages for NEW or LIKE-NEW items you may have purchased on impulse and never used, have received as a gift, or used a couple of times but know you will never use again…. tools, appliances, electronics, furniture, sports equipment, etc. Please call Sandy Grummon 541-247-6356 with your donation ideas, to ensure this year’s event will be another huge success. Please, do not drop items off at the library before talking with Sandy! All proceeds from the Silent Auction will go towards funding programs and capital equipment for the library. Please note: the Friends will NOT accept artwork, collectibles, clothes or homemade quilts/knitting/crochet items for this event.
OCTOBER-NOVEMBER 2026: Do you have any books published after 2020 you will never read again? Please consider donating NEW and “LIKE-NEW” books to the Friends of the Curry Public Library for our upcoming HOLIDAY BETTER BOOKS & BAKE SALE November 20 & 21, 2026. Cookbooks and kids’ books are especially popular as Christmas gifts, but recent novels and non-fiction are irresistible to the avid readers of Gold Beach who will purchase them as a gift to themselves! The Friends will sell the gift-quality books for $5.00 each, and all proceeds will go towards funding library programs and projects. Bring your book donations to the library on 3rd Street in Gold Beach from October 5 through November 17, 2026.

The Friends of the Curry Public Library’s next monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the large meeting hall in the library.

Sandy Grummon will give a recap on the results of the MONTH-LONG SILENT AUCTION, and Becky Ross will give a recap of the JUST DESSERTS AUCTION.

Before we can catch our breath after these two labor-intensive fundraisers, we will pass around sign-up sheets for the upcoming HOLIDAY BETTER BOOKS & BAKE SALE, November 20-21, 2026, and Michelle Arnold will pass around sign-up sheet for volunteers to write SANTA LETTERS, which will be written Nov.1-30, 2026.

Our secretary, Michelle Valentino, will send an email Sunday, October 18th, reminding you of the upcoming meeting. She will attach a copy of the minutes from the August meeting and the agenda for this month’s meeting.

If you are not a member of the Friends, consider stopping by one of our meetings (third Tuesday of every month at 9:00 a.m.) and see if we are a good fit with your interests, personality, and your availability to volunteer at Friends’ events. We are an enthusiastic group of supporters of the BEST rural library in Oregon!
