In 2018, fundraising for the new Library Learning Center addition will be the focus of the Friends’ annual fundraisers, appeal letter campaign, and grant writing efforts. The future Harald Haug Library Learning Center annex will allow Curry Public Library to:
- Enhance free educational and cultural programming opportunities to better meet community needs, including support for supervised after-school learning programs.
- Expand access to advanced technologies, including tablets, scanners, laptops, digital recording and video editing equipment, 3D printing, and video conferencing equipment.
- Provide space for up to 150 people to enjoy musical performances, attend lectures, and participate in classes.

Appeal Letter Campaign
The Appeal Letter Work Group will create a brochure and compose a letter soliciting financial support from the community for the Harald Haug Library Learning Center, to be mailed in October 2018.
The work group has selected three projects or programs from our library director’s wish list, and will write grants for these selected projects.
The Friends of the library want to help establish English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the library.
The work group will maintain the area behind the benches in front of the library, and will also help weed Anita’s Garden.
If any of these projects sound interesting and you want to help make a difference, please let us know. We can certainly use your help!
